Prepare Vaughan Williams (Serenade to Music), Handel (Zadok the Priest and the “Hallelujah” chorus from Messiah), Massenet’s “Méditation” from Thais and an extract from Bizet's Carmen for a “Last Night of the Proms”-type concert with the Cork Symphony Orchestra in City Hall on Thursday 10 December 2009

Start learning Dvorák’s Mass in D (for choir & organ – no soloists)

January-March 2010

Finish learning Dvorak’s Mass in D for performances in Cork (Curtis Auditorium, CSM, Saturday 6 March 2010 - lunchtime) and Bantry (Sunday 21 March 2010 – 8.00 p.m.)

March to April 2010

Prepare Song of the Provinces by Aloys Fleischmann (1910-92) for the Opening Gala Concert of the Cork International Choral Festival in City Hall on Wednesday 28 April 2010 with Dachau’s Liedertafel and the CSM Symphony Orchestra (programme to include an instrumental work by Aloys Fleischmann and Dvorák’s Mass in D)

[The father of Professor Aloys Fleischmann; for many years Organist & Master of the Choristers in the North Cathedral]

Saturday 23-Saturday 30 October 2010

Trip to Dachau (Germany) to perform Aloys G. Fleischmann’s St Finbarre’s Mass (during a Mass) and both Dvorák’s Mass in D and Aloys Fleischmann’s Song of the Provinces in a concert – the latter with Dachau’s Liedertafel. [NB: the Fleischmann family originally came from Dachau.]

November & December 2010

Prepare and perform a Christmas carol-type programme (w/e of 11-12 December 2010 subject to confirmation)

January-April 2011

Prepare Puccini’s Messa [di Gloria] for performances with the CSM Symphony Orchestra in City Hall and one other venue (dates and additional venue to be confirmed)

May 2011
